Product Description
In this raucous collection of true-life stories, actress and comedian Chelsea Handler recounts her time spent in the social trenches with that wild, strange, irresistible, and often gratifying beast: the one-night stand.
You've either done it or know someone who has: the one-night stand, the familiar outcome of a night spent at a bar, sometimes the sole payoff for your friend's irritating wedding, or the only relief from a disastrous vacation. Often embarrassing and uncomfortable, occasionally outlandish, but most times just a necessary and irresistible evil, the one-night stand is a social rite as old as sex itself and as common as a bar stool.
Enter Chelsea Handler. Gorgeous, sharp, and anything but shy, Chelsea loves men and lots of them. My Horizontal Life chronicles her romp through the different bedrooms of a variety of suitors, a no-holds-barred account of what can happen between a man and a sometimes very intoxicated, outgoing woman during one night of passion. From her short fling with a Vegas stripper to her even shorter dalliance with a well-endowed little person, from her uncomfortable tryst with a cruise ship performer to her misguided rebound with a man who likes to play leather dress-up, Chelsea recalls the highs and lows of her one-night stands with hilarious honesty. Encouraged by her motley collection of friends (aka: her partners in crime) but challenged by her family members (who at times find themselves a surprise part of the encounter), Chelsea hits bottom and bounces back, unafraid to share the gritty details. My Horizontal Life is one guilty pleasure you won't be ashamed to talk about in the morning.

Chelsea is my new best friend January 7, 2009 Chelsea Handler writes as if she's your close girl friend telling you a story over a drink at the bar. She's honest and witty as she dead pans her thoughts & reactions to her most ridiculous stories about men. I absolutely loved the book, and recommend it to any girl who's ever needed a night of hooking up for the sake of it.
hilarious January 4, 2009 The most fun i've ever had reading a book. Her writing enables you to visualize the fun she has had in her life. It reminds me of periods in my own life that i can't help but reminisce about. Awesome book, i can't wait to read the next one!
disappointed January 4, 2009 was expecting more. it was a collection of "almost" one night stands. kept waiting for it to get good. the stories felt like a collection of not funny enough cast off's in her comedy routine.
Freakin' hilarious!! December 28, 2008 This book is clearly just as good as Handler's second book: Are you there Vodka, It's Me Chelsea. You will be laughing out loud it is so funny. The first thought you have when you pick up the book is that "I wonder if Chelsea really had that many one night stands to write a book about it." The answer to that is yes and no. It is a combo of both. When reading this book I thought Chelsea was living inside a mans body, because the things that she does are like what men do when hooking up. She is absolutely a risk taker when it comes to taking home men or even meeting them. Overall this book is humorously funny.
You'll Laugh till you Hurt! December 28, 2008 I picked this book up thinking it would be a collection of erotica. Before I had time to be disappointed, I started laughing and never stopped. This is the most I have laughed out loud reading a book since Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
