Product Description Delmar's Pediatric Nursing Care Plans, Third Edition, provides detailed information on developing care plans for children with health alterations. Each care plan presents information to guide users in developing comprehensive, individualized nursing care plans based on solid, scientific knowledge. Care plans solicit specific client data and prompt the user to individualize the interventions and evaluate the child's individual responses. Interventions and outcomes are suggested to keep parents informed of and involved in their child's care.

Hard to get around in.... December 10, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a nursing student and purchased this for my pediatric/OB semester to help out with care plans. It is worth the purchase although I recommend flipping around in it before using the index because it's a little hard to find what you want. For example, if your client has NEC you can't just find that in the index, you have to look up "nutrition" or other key problems. Also, one care plan may be used for several different problems. The biggest issue I could find with the book is when you go to the page number you want referenced in the index, it will say "See Altered Nutrition" but you have to flip pages trying to find it since there is no clue where the full care plan is. I finally figured out how to use it at the end of the semester and then found out it is on statref! if you already have access to that.
Bottom line is, it's the best and maybe even only option out there. It is worth the price since it saves time with your care planning.
SO SO Book March 12, 2007 This is a good book if you need help with care plans, but the only problem is that the care plans are in the book based on Disease or Disorder. I think it would be better if they just listed the problem (for example: Fluid volume Deficit) and not make you go searching through the book.
